Creepy? - Yep.
Cool? - In both meanings of the word! - ( but never especially cold, per se )
Catacombs? - Well yeah… There’s a whole world under your feet right now! And the stories it tells are equally deep… if you know what I mean.
Voted one of the top 10 things to see in Rome, this tiny-group tour takes you deep below street level to explore the city’s most beloved and creepy catacombs. - Welcome to real-life-archaeology and architectural-insight!
Yep. - As you dive deep below one of Rome’s most breathtaking Churches (The Basilica of San Clemente), you’ll suddenly find yourself five stories below ground! There, you’ll hear your expert guide bring it to life with stories about about Medieval Popes, Pagan Rituals, Hidden Artistic Masterpieces, and flowing freshwater underground streams!
Not a bad way to spend a warm Roman day… That’s why it’s cool in two ways. Priceless.
After exploring San Clemente and getting in touch with your deep-self, you’ll be whisked away to explore another part of Rome’s creepy and hidden underlayment. - the Domitilla Catacombs.
The Domatilla Catacombs are amazing too! - Built a short distance outside the city center in the first century… these sprawling passageways still contain the remains of over 150,000 Romans. So be prepared for one of the most spine-tingling experiences you’ve ever had!
So… Here’s your chance to spend a day “deep” in thought. But just in case you’re “under” the wrong impression, don’t worry… The dead can’t hurt you, they can only inspire you to live your best life, right now!
