The Golden Tickets
THERE ARE “SKIP-THE-LINE” TICKETS … AND THEN THERE ARE “NOOO-LINE TICKETS”… HERE THEY ARE!
Description
Okay ... so 'skip-the-line' Vatican tickets are great ... but there's something even better!
Let me explain ...
The Vatican is notoriously-busy, and the line is agonizingly-long most days.
So instead of making everybody wait half the day... the Vatican started selling these things called “skip-the-line” tickets.
And they’re great! - Instead of waiting around for 2-3 hours with herds of tourists, you simply pick a “time-slot,” and wait (a little more briefly) in that time-slot’s line. Not bad.
BUT THERE’S SOMETHING EVEN BETTER! … There are now a tiny number of tour companies that have the rare and prestigious honor of being “Vatican Silver Member-Collaborators” - Sounds cool, eh?
(I bet it involves some kind of neat looking hat)
Here’s what that means for you:
When you choose THE GOLDEN TICKET you basically get a direct-shot into the Vatican, without ANY kind of wait at all. - A pretty sweet deal.
When you use your golden tickets, you simply meet up with the representative at the time you’ve scheduled your tickets, and walk right in.
… After, of course, you take a relaxing breath and humorously-glance over at the HUGE line you just skipped. Nice..
So claim your GOLDEN TICKETS...and enjoy a VIP escorted entrance to the Vatican!
We love having this option… because your time in Rome is limited, and this way you can grab a nice lunch or enjoy a little more time just roaming the square… without the pressure of waiting in your “skip-the-line time-slot” line.
With these tickets, you can tour on your own if you’d like (not recommended… you’ll miss a lot of great stuff, and probably feel a little “lost in the herd”) … or …
FOR AN ESPECIALLY SPICY TIME: Upgrade to the full tour. That way, you’ll experience The Vatican Museums, The Sistine Chapel, and lots of other MUST-SEES … with fun, engaging, expert-level guidance from a Guaranteed-Awesome Vatican Tour Guides.
And when you upgrade… you’ll get even more premium “silver collaborator” insight and service ... from the same folks who got you in the door so easily ... and that makes the Vatican even better!
(But I don’t think they actually have funny hats or anything…) - Enjoy!

With this tour you are guaranteed specially reserved VIP entrance slots so that you avoid the 1-3 hour wait. This is also why it’s important to be at least 15 minutes early to meet your group.
You will meet your guide at the designated meeting point on your voucher. Your guide will escort you to the security checkpoint. After you will be given headsets (only for groups over 6).
Now it's on to the Museums! During the tour you are encouraged to ask questions about all things Vatican along the way.
Before you reach the Sistine Chapel, Your guide will give you the inside scoop, about Michelangelo, some of the special characteristics about these paintings and what to look for while you are in there, because you are not allowed to talk inside of the Sistine Chapel, shhhhhh.
Once you have taken that beauty in, Your guide will take you through a secret door near by that leaves you out in front of St Peters. Here you will also skip the line to enter a truly living museum. Your guide will show you the highlights and explain the history behind the largest church in the world.
Here is where the tour ends but you can continue on exploring St. Peters on your own. You have the option to purchase tickets (at an added cost on site) to climb the dome or go underground to see the Vatican crypts.
Be prepared to be walking/standing for the length of the tour. You definitely want to wear your most comfortable shoes. The Vatican Museums are vast with some steps and stairways. If you are concerned about the intensity, contact us for more information, or choose the private option where you can go at your own pace.
- Students that book for a student price MUST bring their student ID. It is required at the start of the tour.
- Leave the sharp objects behind… The Vatican Museum require all knives, scissors and/or metal tools of various types to be stored in the cloakroom.
- You are allowed to enter the Vatican Museums with a bag no larger than 15.7 inches x 13.7 inches x 6 inches (40cm x 35cm x 15cm). Larger bags must be checked in. You must also check backpacks, tripods and other oversized items. Please do not bring large bags on your tours. Spending time at the coat check will disrupt the tour for the rest of the group. If you check bags, you will also have to return to the coat check after your tour, which finishes at St. Peter’s Basilica (a 15-minute walk from the museum entrance).
Most activities are refundable as long as cancellations are made with more than 72 hours notice. There may be a transaction fee of 10% to process the refund. Some agencies have stricter policies, these policies will be presented during the booking process, BEFORE payment is requested. Spicy Meatball is very transparent in all of our transactions, feel free to contact our superhero customer support with any questions regarding these policies.
Vatican Tickets are purchased in the name of the guest and are not transferable so they are not refundable. In addition to the 2.5% transaction fee to process the refund, also the tickets (est. 17 euros per ticket) will not be included in the refunded amount.
During State visits or special religious events, parts of the Vatican may be closed unexpectedly. If an area normally covered on a tour is closed, your guide will still provide explanations of the closed areas from outside. Plus, show you an extra site or gallery to compensate.
St. Peter’s Basilica is an active church and can be closed unexpectedly for liturgical ceremonies. If closed, the time inside the Vatican Museums will be extended. On Wednesday mornings the Pope has his weekly audience in Saint Peter’s Square so for security reasons, Saint Peter’s Basilica is closed. If you book a tour on a Wednesday we can not guarantee access to the Basilica.
