Well, now it’s time to get oriented so you can eke out every last drop of time here in this “City of Bridges”, and that’s just what this walking tour will do.
You’ll start off at the Rialto Bridge, famous the world over for its beautiful architecture, and for being incredibly photogenic! You’ll walk through the city with stops along the way to learn about the history of Venice, its famous inhabitants (Marco Polo anyone?) and there’s time to take in the local vibes too.
Arriving in Saint Mark’s Square is an experience all in itself, and you will discover just why Napoleon called it the “finest drawing room in all of Europe.” Gothic buildings dazzle the senses, the famous Clock Tower soars to the sky, and in the middle of it all is Saint Mark’s Basilica.
During your tour inside of Saint Mark’s you’ll be immersed into a fascinating and thrilling history. You’ll hear stories from the Crusades and the Byzantine era, learn about the destructive fires and floods over the centuries, and dive into the intrigues of illegal burials and priceless treasures.

Be prepared to be walking/standing for the length of the tour. There will be some uneven flooring and steps and stairways.
This tour will visit some sacred sites (churches) which insist on a minimal dress code. You won’t need a monk's habit, just covering your knees and shoulders is required.
Tips for the hotter months:
Ladies: Keep a scarf in your bag to drape over the shoulders.
Men: Wear longer shorts.
Everyone: Wear comfortable shoes!
Transportation to/from Hotel:
The meeting point will be displayed on your voucher with a very clear explanation of how to reach it, and even a GPS link for the techie folks. After the tour, your guide will give you suggestions for what's close by if you want to grab a coffee, a bite, or do a little shopping. They can also point you in the direction of a taxi or the closest transportation to get to your next destination.
Food/Drinks:
